The St. Louis Shakespeare Festival (STLSF) is dedicating August 21st to the memory of actor and director Jonathan Reid Gealt, who passed away a few days ago. STLSF is proud to honor Jonathan for his contributions to the St. Louis Shakespeare Festival and the movement of the arts in our community.Jonathan was the first to bring Shakespeare to us in a non-classical setting. From early productions of Richard III and The Merchant of Venice to his most recent work in Julius Caesar, Jonathan's enthusiasm for the Bard and knowledge of acting and directing were both contagious and inspiring. Jonathan took Shakespeare to audiences and venues in St. Louis where they had never seen or experienced anything like it before. Jonathan's talents and passion were greatly missed and will never be forgotten.
